Las Vegas Bowl

With the extension of the Las Vegas Bowl contract, Las Vegas gets to host bowl games till 2005. The current contract ended in 2003. This year's game was played on December 23rd, between Pac 10's fifth selection and Mountain West Conference's second selection.

Since the Las Vegas Bowl instituted the MWC/Pac-10 matchup in 2001, the conferences have split the first two head-to-head games. In 2001, the University of Utah of the MWC defeated USC by a score of 10-6. Last year, UCLA hoisted the Las Vegas Bowl championship trophy after defeating New Mexico 27-13 before a paid attendance of 30,324, the second most in Las Vegas Bowl history.

The Las Vegas Bowl is played at the 40,000-seat Sam Boyd Stadium.
